Returns Information

  We hope you will be thrilled with your purchase from Polka Dots and Petticoats.   However, we do appreciate that on occasion an item may simply not be suitable, and you may return it for a refund or credit note if you adhere to our Returns Policy set out below.     Please read the information on this page fully before ordering to ensure there is no misunderstanding in the event of a return.   We ask you to confirm you have read and understood them at the checkout, so it is your responsbility to ensure you have indeed read them.  We ask that you show the same care and attention for any item in your possession that we showed when we packed and posted it originally. 

 

Conditions of return

 Items must be received back by us in the appropriate condition.  All items must be returned to us before we can process them.  Items must be in their original packaging (e.g. clear polybag if applicable) with original tags and labels ATTACHED, and must not have been used, worn, carry any odours such as smoke or perfume, or have any marks such as make-up or fake tan.  Any item received back which does not meet ANY of these conditions will not be accepted as a return and will be sent back to you.

Items must be received back by us within 28 days of you receiving the item.  You will then be entitled to a monetary refund or shop credit excluding the original postage cost.  The cost of returning an item to us will not be refunded and is the responsibility of the customer. 

Please note we do not offer an exchange service.  If you would like to order and alternative item or size, you will need to re-order as a seperate transaction

Items received back by us after 28 days of you receiving the item will be returned to you as this falls outside the policy and we are therefore unable to accept the return.

 Faulty items

 Any faulty or damaged items received must be reported to us within 2 days of receipt, along with photographic evidence.

Please do not dispose of any item until we have confirmed it is ok to do so. 

If an item is faulty or damaged, a credit or refund will be given.  It is not our policy to send out replacement items, although we may offer this at our discretion.

Please note that we are unable to refund for faulty items after 3 months have passed from the date of the order, but may offer a credit at our discretion.  After 6 months, we are unable to offer a credit or refund.

  Please follow the process below to ensure your return is dealt with quickly and efficiently.

 1.  Notify us

Please note that you MUST notify us by email within 14 calendar days of receiving an item before you send anything back so we may log the return on our system.   

 

2.  Download and complete our Returns Form

  All returns must be accompanied by a fully completed Returns Form.  This form can be downloaded here.  

 Please print it off, complete it and enclose it securely in your return parcel.  No other paperwork is required inside your parcel.

 

3.  Package your Item

   Package your item(s) securely, ensuring you have included the completed returns form.  

 

4.  Book your return with Royal Mail (UK customers only)

We are not able to refund the cost of returning your parcel if you use an alternative service to return it.

 

 5.  Once we receive your item

  We will email you to acknowledge safe receipt of your item when it arrives.  This can take up to 3 working days.  If you have used our Tracked returns service you can check the Royal Mail website to confirm your parcel has reached us.

Your parcel, contents and paperwork will be checked.   Please allow up to 7 working days from the date we acknowledge receipt for this to be done.

 

6.  Refund processing

 Once your parcel has been checked, you will receive another email confirming your refund or credit note.  Please allow up to 7 days from this point for your refund to be processed.   The refund will be automatically returned to the method you used to pay.  Once processed, refunds can take up to 72 hours to show in your account if the order was originally paid for using Paypal balance funds, and up to 30 days if originally paid for by debit or credit card, or by bank account through Paypal.  

 Please note if you used a voucher to pay for your order, your refund will be in the form of another voucher - no cash alternative will be given.

 Where a credit note is applicable, we will organise this within 7 days.  Credit notes are valid for 3 months from the date of issue.

   Cancelling an order

 We understand that on occasion you may need to cancel your order.  Please note however, that your order may already be going through our system, in the process of being picked and packed or may already have been dispatched.

Please notify us by email at the earliest convenience if you wish to cancel.  If you order has not yet been dispatched, we will be able to process a cancellation for you.  This cannot be done until 24 hours after the order was placed.  Please allow up to 5 working days for the refund of your payment to be processed.  The refund will be automatically returned to the method you used to pay.  Once processed, refunds can take up to 72 hours to show in your account if the order was originally paid using Paypal balance funds, and up to 30 days if originally paid for by debit or credit card, or by bank account through Paypal.  

If your order has already been dispatched, we regret we are unable to process a cancellation and your order will be need to be returned to us, once received, to go through our refund process.
